A Matching Grant
We thank the Lord for his provision through Hand in Hand Christian Adoption, Inc. Last week, we were awarded a dollar for dollar matching grant up to $7,000.00. (If family and friends contribute $3,500.00 to our adoption, HandinHand will match those funds for a total grant of $7,000.00) In an effort to let as many folks know about what is happening, and as we wait as #10 on the waiting list, we share the following letter which we sent out to family and friends this week:
Dear Family and Friends,
Greetings from the Bradys!
Our family is well into the journey of providing a "forever" family to another child through the process of adoption. Jack, William, Isaac and Benjamin look forward to welcoming home their little brother from Ethiopia within the next six to seven months. While we are waiting to hear about the specific child God has for us, we have already named him Miller Elijah, and even his stocking will soon be hung by our chimney with care.
Having travelled the adoption journey before, we are aware of the joys and challenges along the way. We anticipate the ultimate joy of welcoming our son into our family, and we realize that our greatest challenge is finances. The total expense of approximately $25,000.00 includes home studies, adoption agency fees, attorney fees, travel expenses, and more.
We were recently awarded a matching funds grant to help with the expenses of our adoption through Hand in Hand Christian Adoption, Inc., a non-profit profit private operating foundation. Hand in Hand will match any funds which are donated by our friends and family for the expenses of our adoption. All funds received from our friends and family will be matched dollar for dollar by Hand in Hand up to our awarded grant amount. All donations are tax-deductible.
